BA2023: Open? Another way?
Libraries, by their very nature, contribute to the dissemination, sharing and use of scientific knowledge. In the area of publishing scientific information, academic libraries are already actively involved in supporting the dissemination of their university’s research results. But what services do academic libraries offer in terms of open (educational) resources? Can they declare their quality? And does this also imply changes in processes, in requirements for librarians’ competences or in funding? In the end, won’t the costs of further processing open resources or maintaining accessibility be greater than the financial savings in acquisition?
